Elementary School – Grade(s) K-5

By integrating Florida’s K-5 Department of Education framework, IVY GLOBAL SCHOOL provides students with a strong foundation in ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS, MATHEMATICS, SCIENCE, AND SOCIAL STUDIES, preparing them for future academic success and lifelong learning.

Each grade level builds upon the skills and concepts introduced in previous grades, ensuring a seamless learning progression aligned with the Florida Standards. By the end of Grade 5, students possess the essential knowledge and skills to succeed in middle school and beyond. Curriculum Items of note within ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS: Grade K includes Foundational Skills that practice essential phonics skills such as letter-sound correspondence, blending, segmenting, word families, and decoding.

Lesson Plan Sections: Warm-Up, Learn, Energize, Practice, and Assignment All courses contain “Energize” activities to incorporate movement into the learning experience and to encourage participatory, interactive learning environments.

Students will receive an annual grade for each course, calculated as an average of the grades from both semesters. However, the student’s mastery of the Content, as evidenced by passing grades, ultimately decides whether to promote or retain a student.

Middle School – Grade(s) 6-8

IVY GLOBAL SCHOOL utilizes a curriculum aligned with national academic standards: COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS, NEXT GENERATION SCIENCE STANDARDS, & NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR SOCIAL STUDIES.

Students entering 6th grade may apply for admission to the STANDARD PROGRAM or the HONORS PROGRAM and, upon completing the Entrance Requirements, begin to transform their Foundational Skills into the habits of self-discipline, critical thinking, and perseverance.

High School - Grade(s) 9-12

IVY GLOBAL SCHOOL’S HIGH SCHOOL PATHWAY(S) provide the flexibility required for globally conscious education in the 21st century. As a result, our High School Courses revolve around facilitating engaging and thoughtful activities that allow students to apply their prior knowledge creatively. Thus, students who provide a transcript from an accredited institution showing satisfactory completion of Grade 8 or pass the end-of-year exams for Grade 8 may apply for admission into IVY GLOBAL SCHOOL’S STANDARD DIPLOMA PATHWAY or DUAL ENROLLMENT PATHWAY.

Depending on when our students enroll, they begin their journey following our 4-year, 3-year, or 2-year PATHWAY, earning, at a minimum, the mandatory six (6) credits required by IVY GLOBAL SCHOOL.

IVY GLOBAL SCHOOL’S STANDARD DIPLOMA PATHWAY requires FULL-TIME STUDENTS to complete 21credits of Coursework with a minimum of six (6) credits earned through IVY GLOBAL SCHOOL.

A MAXIMUM of 15 Credits are transferable & ONLY those Courses listed with a FINAL GRADE of 6.0 or higher.

Our DUAL ENROLLMENT PATHWAY allows PART-TIME STUDENTS to complete Coursework in their local High School; however, a minimum of six (6) credits must be earned with IVY GLOBAL SCHOOL in the ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS and SOCIAL STUDIES Content Areas.

Finally, students must master the prerequisites for a curriculum aligned with national academic standards—COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS, NEXT GENERATION SCIENCE STANDARDS, & NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR SOCIAL STUDIES and delivered entirely in English. Ivy Global School requires prospective students to earn an overall score within Level 4 – Limited to Level 6 – Competent Bands of the INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTING SYSTEM (IELTS) or demonstrate their proficiency by submitting a comparable examination completed under the similar proctoring requirements of the IELTS.

Students wishing to enroll in Grade 9 from Grade 7 must pass the end-of-year exams for Grade 8 ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS, MATHEMATICS, and SCIENCE Courses, scoring at least 8.0 (80%) for each Course. These exams must be completed under secure testing conditions provided by an accredited institution. The submission of scores requires the same assurances of authenticity expected for all official transcripts.

Grading - Learning Pathway

IVY GLOBAL SCHOOL students in grades K-12 earn letter grades reflective of their overall progress, mastery of the course objectives identified for each course, and compatibility with national and Florida state academic standards, COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS, NEXT GENERATION SCIENCE STANDARDS, BENCHMARKS FOR EXCELLENT STUDENT THINKING, & NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR SOCIAL STUDIES - where applicable.

For High School students, letter grades in all courses retain the same point value. Each semester, the GRADE POINT AVERAGE is computed on a four-point scale and recorded on the second-semester transcript. The maximum GPA is 4.0, which determines a student's eligibility for graduation and extracurricular activities.
