Emeritus J. David Armstrong, Jr

David Armstrong, Jr. is a higher education consultant, international educator, investor, board member, and philanthropist. He is president emeritus, retired, of Broward College, one of the largest and most diverse institutions in America. He is the co-chair for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance Six Pillars Economic Program, Co-Chair of the Broward Business Council for Homelessness, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation of Broward, and the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) - Fulbright Scholar Program.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Chairman of Leadership Florida and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance.
• Broward County’s economic development organization.
• Executive Search Consultant for the Association of Community College Trustees.

Dr. Marielena DeSanctis

She brings a strong background in both engineering and education, with over six years of experience as a professional engineer and over 16 years in K–12 education. She has also served as principal, assistant principal, and classroom teacher before transitioning into higher education leadership.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Ed.S. in Educational Leadership, Florida Atlantic University.

  • Master’s in Math Education, Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Sunem Beaton-Garcia

Dr. Sunem Beaton-Garcia, North Campus president and Vice Provost for Academic Affairs for Broward College. She is a former instructor in our online college, has a doctorate with a focus on instructional design and ed tech. Her campus has 15,000 students and she also has the bachelor's degree in teacher education program in several areas on her campus.

Christopher Mcguire

Assistant Principal at Oriole Elementary School and Director of Distance Learning for Broward County Public Schools. He has also served as a teacher at the Strategic Planning Department, Silver Trail Middle School, and Madie Ives Elementary School. He brings a strong background in educational leadership and classroom instruction across multiple grade levels.

Jennifer Warren

Being a part of a team that has implemented strategic efforts to promote growth to achieve green status for three consecutive years, Jennifer has been dedicated to support other schools with her expertise in strategic collaboration and sustainable development. She specialises in Educational Leadership, Elementary Education and English Language Arts.
